hey, I finally went fishing again :shock:
I had my appointment with Dave Thiermann last week, and Dave suggested (erm.. made me) set a date to take him fishing. For health reasons, you know. .. and we had a good morning! We met in the parking lot outside Manresa, and fished from 8-11am, high tide an 9am. I got 7 perch -- 3 dinks and 4 small-medium size. Dave caught a couple as well. All except one taken on surf-miki fly; the one exception was a dink that took one of Mark's microflies. Dave was fishing a carolina rig setup, and getting lots of hits, but being a first-timer, he was having trouble getting them to stick. I started getting more hits and fish when I switched from the medium-sink shooting head to the fast-sink one.
by the way, I still really like that Sufix elite hi-vis line I'm using as a shooting line. Very pleasant stuff.
