Almost not worth writing about. A short morning outing. The fog rolled in with a vengeance yesterday evening, and Santa Cruz is all socked in this morning. I drove down to Seacliff again, to look at things. The guy with the pipe was down there already, and told me he hadn't done too well.. fish had moved, or something.
Surf was higher and more intense today, and the little rips weren't as prominent, for some reason. I fished for a while on both sides of the pier, but I didn't feel any fish. The wind was coming up too, from the right, which made me feel nervous about casting, as I don't love snagging myself. I also can't get the line out as far casting left handed ;).
My right hand thumb is bugging me again. It seems to be like that, with me and sports. I start mountainbiking, and my knees start bothering me. Archery, I feel it in my shoulder joints. Flyfishing, thumb joints. Acupuncture?! Maybe I should think about a 2-hander, to take the stress off that one hand. Or fish with my spinning rod for a while.
One guy was down there fishing with bait. He had a couple of perch in his bag, so I guess there were some fish out there -- maybe further out.
No fish today. Still, it was nice to hear the waves. No pictures either.. I left the camera at work yesterday.
