Went with Deva down to the beach this morning. I got hung up getting out of the house, so I didn't get down there (Manresa) until a little after 8. High tide around 10, so not so good conditions. Worse.. the water was the color of a nice cup of earl grey tea, so the fish couldn't see my flies, if any were sticking around.

After a while of not catching fish there, we went to check out sunset. Same deal. Pretty flat looking beach, calm surf, but no real sign of fish. The regulars at sunset were all elsewhere.

One funny thing happened, in that we met one regular on the beach, an elderly man with spinning rod. After having chatted with him a little, he noticed Deva's setup, a big heavy sinker and sabiki rig. He said something like: "Is that what you're using??? HAHAHAHAHA.." and walked off. Deva: "Was he laughing at me?!"
