We're having a rare sunny morning (ok, so not completely cloudless, but the weather is beautiful) so I thought I'd try it out on the beach again. I drove to Manresa around 9am and found the surf pretty mellow, and not too many people around. I fished for a little over an hour.
Not much else to report. No fish for me. Talked to a guy who had been fishing and had found a lot of smaller perch here, and some big (but very few) ones at Rio del Mar. Since I didn't catch any fish, I'll consider his report complete hearsay and not believe a word of it. Had I, on the other hand, caught some fish.. anyway..
There was a bit of kelp-salad in the surf, but less to the south than to the north.
I'll report here that I was down at this same beach on monday, a week and a half ago, but had no luck then either, and the surf was very hard to deal with.
I do, however, feel optimistic about the fishing picking up for me soon, and it was very nice to walk the beach and cast my flyline. As I type this, the sky has clouded over, and it is cold, windy and rainy outside.
