Ok, I'm ready to go soak some bait at the pier now. Serious.
I went down to Manresa at 9 this morning.. couldn't get out earlier. A number of folks there already, fishing. Some perch were caught this morning, and an 18" striper too.
Some interesting looking holes and structure was apparent, so I fished a couple of them to the south, then went north toward seascape. No hits, no nothing. Nice weather to be out in, my casting felt great, but not a single fish felt.
I saw a sea otter. Cute.
I tromped back to the car around 11, and drove down to sunset. A few guys were up at the picnic table; said the bite wasn't happening anymore, and that there hadn't been much of a bite today. It was low tide now, and they thought all the fish were gone far out. I rigged up the spinning rod anyway, and went down to fish a couple of small rips that were there. No hits there either.
So.. second full outing of the year, and still no fish. Statistically speaking, looking at how the last year went, I should catch some soon.
