Out again, 10:00 - 11:45. With the increased beach flexibility (Poppy Pass) I headed down to Sunset. Looks pretty flat, but hopefully less kelp than at Manresa.
Still swinging the striper rig; Winston XTR, Outbound 10I line, big Nautilus reel for balance. Sara on point, and Surf Miki on the dropper.
I talked to another fisherman heading up, and he said he got some perch down by the stair path. I eventually ended up there (no hits or grabs), and all of a sudden had a solid take. I landed the fish, and it was a 14" Jack Smelt! Cool! It took the Surf Miki.
Later I had another grab, just as I was letting go of the line for the casting, and so I missed it. Not much else to report.. some kelp but not bad. Pretty uncrowded beach.
