Fish result: One nice barred perch, one good grab that popped off.

Another evening outing.. I drove down to Manresa hoping for the free lot (poppy pass is expired), but no luck. I then decided to try Seacliff Resort -- its been years -- and found the access point and also 3 other flyfishers going down to the beach. The others were nice, one experienced at the surf, and 2 out for the first time.

Gear is the bling setup with the floater like last time, but I also packed a second reel with the outbound S8 8wt line, which was a good idea. Flies are a green clouser on point, and a surf miki on the dropper.

I cast the floater for a while, no fish, and then switched to the sinker. All of as sudden there is that wonderful tug, and I look over at the others and see that the experienced guy also has a fish on. Mine turned out to be a nice barred perch, perhaps 10 - 11" that took the 3" clouser.

About 5 minutes later I have another strong tug, but it pops off. The tide seems to be receding with the water getting shallower, and I switch back to the floater.

We saw dolphins, and a whale breaching further out. Nice sunset, when the sun shows up under the clouds, then goes into the fog bank. I call it quits a little after sunset.

Next, I go back to the #6 TCR with its S8 outbound and the 8wt bonefish line. I think I want a slower sinking (s3?) outbound for this rod. ... and some spare spools for the Nautilus or the Vosseler.
