These palms are _very_ cold hardy, and mine has sat out in frosty 26F nights without any apparent damage. There seems to be 2 forms; one without a trunk, like mine, and one with a trunk. The little "suckers" you see in the pot seemed to actually be more germinated seeds. I transplaned them, and no other suckers have appeared so far. This palm seems to need a fair amount of fertilizer (at least in a pot) as it will otherwise grow small leaves, putting most of it's energy into making the infloresences. |
